Beautiful large antique high relief carved shell cameo brooch The Abduction of Helen of Troy. This is a very large cameo brooch measuring 2-5/8 inches wide and 2-1/4 inches high including the frame. The cameo depicts Helen taken into a boat and a flying cherub with a torch in the background. The figures are skillfully carved and in excellent condition. Weight 28 grams. This is an extremely rare cameo the first of this image I have seen in my more than 50 years in the antique business. It is guaranteed to please and delight any cameo collector.
