Unique Vintage Burle Marx Aqua Marine Forma Livre 18k Yellow Gold Ring

This is a beautiful and unique vintage hand made ring made by famous Brazilian jewelry maker Burle Marx c.1960. The ring is designed with a stunning natural carved aquamarine. The “Forma Livre” free form shape is often fashioned by carving or tumbling the gemstone, a technique invented by Haroldo Burle Marx in 1948. The natural aqua has amazing color and nice clarity. The aqua marine measures 19mm long by 12mm wide and 8mm high. The ring is marked Burle Marx 18K. It is in excellent condition. Ring Size 8.5, Weight 11.1 grams. Burle Marx is without question one the greatest jewelry designers that ever lived. His customer list looks much like a social registry. Cicely Tyson, Madame Ferragamo, Placido Domingo, Natalie Wood, The Shah of Iran, Queen Margrethe of Denmark, and the Empress of Japan were just a few of his customers. In 1989 over half a million dollars worth of Burle Marx jewels were on display at The Houston Museum of Natural Science for a period of two years. Burle Marx was featured in Connoisseur Magazine, Town and Country, Vogue, U.S. News & World Report, and The New York Times.
