Superb antique Art Nouveau bronze sculpture signed Eug Marioton. This is Marioton's finest work. The bronze is titled La Danse. The last time this magnificent bronze sold was at Christie's New York Wednesday May 2, 2001 lot # 00035 in their 19th Century European art sale. The bronze had an estimate of $20-$30,000 and realized $23,500.00. Due to a very fortunate purchase we can offer ours for thousands less than the same model sold for 20 years ago. The sculpture depicts 2 Art Nouveau lovers dancing. The detail and quality of this composition is as fine as one might ever expect for any antique bronze sculpture. It measures 32 inches high, 17-1/2 inches wide at its widest point. The base measures 8-1/2 inches wide and 2-3/4 inches high. It has its original swivel bronze base allowing the new owner to easily turn and view this beautiful sculpture from any angle without having to lift it.
