Price: $3,500
  • Item No: 76804

Rare Antique Bergman Vienna Bronze Indian Chief On Horseback With Rifle & Eagle. The underside of the horse is inscribed Geschutzt made in Austria and has the Bergman foundry seal. This is a rare model we have not seen before. The indian is beautifully sculptured with a superb cold painted finish. It measures to the top of the indians head dress feathers 6.5 inches high. It measures from the back of the horses tail to the tip of its nose 6-3/8 inches. The Indian has an eagle drapped across the back of the horse. The Indians left hand is held over his forehead to block the sun as he looks out perhaps for another eagle to shoot. The indian's in the 1800's killed eagles for their feathers to wear as head dresses for chief's and other Indians. This is an extremely life-like and rare model with much of its original cold paint polychrome finish still intact. It is in excellent condition. Guaranteed to please the most advance bronze collector. (MD)
