1848 Antique Russian Silver & Enamel Pocket Snuff or Cigarette Box

1848 Antique Russian Silver & Enamel Pocket Snuff or Cigarette Box. The box weighs 81.3 grams. It has markings on the inner top and bottom and is dated 1848. There are traces of an old gold wash interior. It has black decorative enameling on parts of the hand engraved design. The box measures 3-1/16th inches long & 2-3/4 inches wide. Depth 3/4 inch it is in good condition with some losses to the black enamel. Please click the last picture to clearly enlarge and see the markings on the bottom section of the box. The picture before that one shows the markings on the inside of the top section. This will make a nice addition to any Russian Silver collection.
