We found several models of Orientalist busts sculptured by Rimbez in the 19th century. Similar busts by this artist have sold for more than $12,000.00. There is a pair of busts described as Gypsy Girls, one of them is the same one we are offering, only the pair did not have the beautiful polychrome finish like this one. The size of the sculpture is the same and is the same model. The pair sold at Sotheby's London 5/20/1994 for $14,238.00. Our model is 18 inches high including the black and rouge marble base and bronze underplate and feet. Widest width from shoulder to shoulder is 8 inches. Weight 22.8 pounds. This is a superb and very beautiful example one of this sculptor's finest works. The polychrome patina adds a lot of interest and certainly should add a lot of value to this example. It is in excellent condition and guaranteed to please the new owner.
