Elkington English Antique Birmingham Silver Plate Inkwell with Cherubs

Elkington English Antique Birmingham Silver Plate Inkwell with Cherubs. The inkwell has a hinged cover and the original glass liner. The sides of the urn formed inkwell holder are rams heads with silver plated rings in their mouths. There are 2 floral wreaths on either side of the rams heads. The base is marked Elkington and has high relief sculptured cherubs with musical instruments. There is also a high relief sculptured torch and wreath on one side and a high relief sculptured bow and arrow quiver on the other side. It is signed Elkington along the outer edge on the top. Please click picture to enlarge signature. This is a very decorative and beautiful antique Elkington silver plated inkwell holder stand and under plate. It measures 6 inches wide at the bottom and measures 5 inches high to the top of the finial. From rams head to rams head it measures 3-1/8 inches across. Weight 972 grams. It is in excellent condition with a beautiful shape and design.
