Antique Victorian 14k Opals Enamel Brooch

Exquisite antique 14k Opals Victorian brooch. The center opal measures approximately 1 carat it is an oval cabochon. It has 4 graduating opals on each side. The smallest opals are round cabochons measuring .15 points, the medium size opal is also a round cabochon measuring .20 points, the largest measuring .25 points. Combined opal weight 2.5 carats. The opals have a lot of fire and throw a lot of great colors, blues, greens, and reds. The primary color they reflect are orange, red, blue and green. This is a rare and beautifully made Victorian brooch. It has black enamel in the central portion further adding to the elegance and beauty of the design. The brooch weighs 11.2 grams. It measures 2-5/8 inches long, and more than 1/2 inch high. On careful examination it shows some very minor loss to the enameling in the center, less than 1/8 inch loss, mentioned for the sake of accuracy.
