The vases are extraordinary quality done by one of the most important and famous French sculptors of the 19th century Auguste Moreau. Each bronze has a beautiful winged cherub holding the neck of the face as it sits on the side of the face. One of the vases has a fly on the back and a high relief sculptured snail. The other one has a fly on the front and a high relief sculptured snail crawling on the back. They are mounted on beautiful rouge polished marble bases with gilt bronze under plates. The cherubs are very sweet and extremely lifelike. This is the best pair of sculptured figural cherub vases we have ever had the pleasure to see purchase and offer for sale. They measure 8 inches form the bottom of the base to the top of the vase. Diameter at the base 3-1/2 inches. The seated cherubs are the highest quality and best composition we have seen. The bronze vases not including the original marble vases measure 7-1/2 inches high. With the bases they are 8-1/2 inches high. Weight 7.25 lbs. They are both in superb condition guaranteed to please the most particular collector or connoisseur.
