Superb Antique 2 Silvered & Gilt Bronze Griffin Ewers

Extraordinary pair of antique silvered and gilt bronze gargoyle handled extremely ornate decorative Griffin ewers. The Griffins on the handle of the ewers are silvered with gilt bronze wings. They measure 9-3/8 inches from the base to the top of the wing. From the pouring spout to the tip of the griffin's wings they measure 7-1/4 inches across. They are set on a six sided marble base with a 3-1/2 inches diameter. The base is 3/4 inch high. The ewers are beautifully designed with high relief sculptured floral and wreath decorations. The front of each ewer has a high relief sculptured bearded man's face silvered and gilt. The Griffin's tails are wrapped tightly around the handles to secure their presence. This is an extraordinary, unique pair of French gilt bronze and silvered Griffin ewers the highest quality imaginable.
