Beautiful antique polychrome bronze sculpture depicting 2 tango dancers signed Zach. This beautiful sculpture was made by Bruno Zach around the turn of the century circa 1900. Bruno Zach's works often depicted nudes, dancers, and erotica subjects. Bruno Zach is a very well listed European sculptor who also sculpted bronze and ivories. Some of his sculptures have sold for more than $80,000.00 at auctions in N.Y. and the U.K.. The tango dancers is a very rare model. The first we have seen in our more than 45 years experience buying, selling, collecting, and appraising bronze sculptures. Her facial expression and her eyes are typical of Zach sculptures. The gentlemen and lady are making wonderful sexy eye contact as they dance. This is a rare example of a tango dancers sculpture. Other than some rubbing to the patina the bronze is in excellent condition. The bronze base is octagonal and below that it is attached to confoming octagonal marble base mounted to a round black marble under base. Not including the marble base, the bronze measures 8 inches high. Including the marble base, it measures 12-1/2 inches high. Diameter of the bottom base is 5-3/4 inches. Weight 14 pounds. This is a high quality polychrome sculpture capturing the passion of the tango in a bronze sculpture showing great motion, detail, and knowledge of the human body.
