Beautiful Antique Classical Gilt Bronze Lady w/ Flowers

Beautiful antique classical gilt bronze lady looking at the flowers she is holding in her right hand while also holding a bouquet of flowers in her left hand down at her side. The top of her classical dress slides down her left shoulder displaying her breast. She has a very peaceful and happy look on her face. This lovely bronze in excellent condition measures 13-1/2 inches high on a beautifully detailed pedestal base measuring 3-1/2 inches wide by 3-1/2 inches deep. Weight 4-1/2 lbs. The bronze is unsigned as were many pieces in the 19th century. Bronzes like these were usually miniaturizations of larger than life size monumental sculptures. Smaller versions were made for collectors in the 19th century called Grand Tour pieces. They were sold to Americans visiting Europe for the first time on the Grand Tour. She has very long hair, beautifully arranged and flowing down her back. This is a lovely bronze that will be a welcomed addition to any collection. Guaranteed to please as are all our items.
